Smith Brindle, Reginald (1917- )

English composer, teacher, and writer on music. His music is influenced by Berio and Stockhausen and employs electronic techniques. His writings include Serial Composition (1966) and The New Music (1975).

He studied in Italy with Ildebrando Pizzetti and Dallapiccola and worked for Italian radio (RAI) 1956-61. He was professor at the University of Surrey 1970-85.
