Snowdon, Anthony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon (1930– )

English photographer. He is especially known for his portraits. He was consultant to the Council of Industrial Design and editorial adviser to Design Magazine from 1961 to 1987; artistic adviser to Sunday Times Publications from 1962 to 1990; and photographer for the Telegraph Magazine from 1990. He has also made several films for television. He was married to Princess Margaret 1960–78. He was created earl in 1961.

Snowdon was the son of R O L Armstrong-Jones and the Countess of Rosse, and was educated at Eton and Cambridge. His publications include Private View (1965), Venice (1972), and Assignments (1972).
