Solomon's seal

Any of a group of perennial plants belonging to the lily family, native to Europe and found growing in moist, shady woodland areas. They have drooping bell-like white or greenish-white flowers which appear just above the point where the leaves join the arching stems, followed by blue or black berries. (Genus Polygonatum, family Liliaceae.)

Great Solomon's seal (P. commutatum) is native to eastern North America.
