Sompting

Village in West Sussex, England, near Worthing. The church of St Mary dates from about 1000, making it one of the oldest in England.

The church's Anglo-Saxon tower has the only English example of a wooden gabled pyramidal roof (known as a ‘Rhenish helm’).
