Soto de Langa, Francisco (1534–1619)

Spanish priest, male soprano, and arranger. He entered the Papal choir in Rome in 1562. He joined the Oratory of St Philip Neri, and continued to sing to the end of his long life. He adapted five books of laudi spirituali for three and four voices, which were published in Rome, between 1577 and 1588. These used Italian folksongs, and various Italian and Spanish compositions.
