Souster, Tim(othy) Andrew James (1943–1994)

English composer. He was co-founder with Roger Smalley of the group Intermodulation, to explore electronic and aleatory techniques.

He studied at Oxford and Darmstadt and was assistant to Stockhausen in Cologne 1971–73. He worked at King's College, Cambridge, and Keele University.

Works Chamber Songs of the Seasons for soprano and viola (1965), Poem in Depression for soprano and ensemble (1965), Metropolitan Games for piano duet (1967), Titus Groan Music for wind quintet, tape, and electronics (1969); Chinese Whispers for percussion and synthesizers (1970), Waste Land Music for saxophone, piano, and organ (1970).
