South Boston| Area of east-central Boston, Massachusetts, across Fort Point Channel from the city centre. Its older quarter is a residential community, heavily Irish. City Point and Castle Island extend to the east. The northern part of South Boston, built on landfill, includes much of Boston's industrial dockland. |
