Soyer, Moses (1899–1974)

Russian-born US painter whose parents emigrated to New York in 1912. He worked in a factory, studied in New York, and, like his brothers, painted city scenes, as in Girl at Sewing Machine (1939–40).

He was born in Tombov, Russia, the twin of Raphael Soyer and brother of Isaac Soyer.
