Spanish Lady, The

Unfinished opera by Elgar (libretto by B Jackson, based on Ben Jonson's play The Devil is an Ass). Begun 1932–33; only a number of skhes are left; arrangements by Percy Young published 1955–56. A performing version of the skhes was made by Dr Young and premiered at Cambridge (University Opera) 24 November, 1994.
