Latin America

Large territory in the Western hemisphere south of the USA, consisting of Mexico, Central America, South America, and the West Indies. The main languages spoken are Spanish (most widespread), Portuguese (in Brazil), and French (in French Guiana, Haiti, and some West Indian islands including Martinique and Guadeloupe).

The Latin American Economic System (LAES) was established in 1975 with the aim of encouraging economic and industrial cooperation in the region.
