Spencer, Niles

Spencer, Niles (1893–1952)

US painter. He travelled frequently in Europe but was based in Provincetown, Massachusetts. He painted abstract landscapes, such as Two Bridges (1947).

He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1913, and with George Bellows and Robert Henri in New York in 1915.
