Spink, Ian (1932- )

English writer on music and teacher. He studied at the Trinity College of Music, London. He was senior lecturer at the University of Sydney (1962-68), and from 1969 was head of the music department at Royal Holloway College, London University. He edited Volumes 17-19 of English Lute Songs (1961, 1963, 1966); he also published English Song, Dowland to Purcell (1974, revised 1986). He made editions of music by Arne and Purcell, and published The Seventeenth Century, in 1992.
