Spitz, Mark Andrew (1950- )

US swimmer. He won a record seven gold medals at the 1972 Olympic Games, all in world record times.

He won 11 Olympic medals in total (four in 1968) and set 26 world records between 1967 and 1972. His attempt to qualify for the 1992 Olympics failed.
