Spivakov, Vladimir (1944- )

Russian violinist and conductor. He studied in Moscow, and from 1975 gave concerts in Eastern Europe and the USA. He played Tchiakovsky's concerto in London, in 1977. He founded and conducted the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra, giving the Four Seasons at the 1990 London Promenade Concerts. He was artistic director of the Colmar International Festival, France.
