Cuthbert, St (died 687)

English Christian saint. A shepherd in Northumbria, England, he entered the monastery of Melrose, Scotland, after receiving a vision. He travelled widely as a missionary and because of his alleged miracles was known as the ‘wonderworker of Britain’.
