Weybridge

Residential town in Surrey, southeast England, at the junction of the rivers Wey and Thames; population (2001) 19,500. According to tradition Julius Caesar crossed the Thames here in 55 BC. Oatlands Park and Ashley Park were royal mansions connected with Henry VIII. The estates remain as residential areas.

At Brooklands, close by, there is light engineering, an aircraft works, and a former motor-racing circuit.

Near Weybridge is the University of Reading National College of Food Technology.
