St Louis Park

City to the southwest of Minneapolis, of which it is a suburb; population (1990) 43,800. It is a commercial and industrial centre. Local products include plastic and rubber parts, computers, precision machinery parts, paint, aluminium cookware, and window and door frames. There are also printing and graphic arts firms, and industrial parks and shopping malls.

Settled in the 1850s, the city mushroomed with the post-war suburban boom.
