St Regis (river)

St Regis

River in New York state, USA; length 130 km/80 mi. It rises in the Adirondack Mountains and flows northwest to the St Lawrence River, northeast of Massena.

It receives the West Branch (105 km/65 mi long) near Brasher Falls and the East Branch (56 km/35 mi long) just above St Regis Falls. It drains Upper and Lower St Regis lakes, St Regis Pond, and other mountain lakes. At its mouth it passes through the St Regis Indian Reservation, which straddles the New York-Quebec-Ontario borders.
