Staden, Johann (1581-1634)

German organist and composer. He was in the service of the Margrave of Kulmbach and Bayreuth 1603-16, after which he became organist of St Lorenz's Church at Nuremberg and soon afterwards of St Sebald's Church.

motets for voices alone, motets with instrumental thorough-bass, sacred concertos for voices and instruments; Hauss-Music for voices and instruments (with German words, 1623-28); sacred and secular songs with continuo for organ or lute; secular songs for four-five voices.
