Stadtman, Thressa C(ampbell) (1920- )

US biochemist. She made major advances in studies of amino acid metabolism, vitamin B12-dependent enzymes (with husband and collaborator Earl Stadtman), microbial biochemistry, and the biochemistry of selenium.

She was born in Sterling, New York. She was a nutrition assistant at Cornell 1942-43, performed research in food microbiology at the University of California 1943-47, and was a research assistant at Harvard 1949-50, before joining the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (Bethesda, Maryland) in 1950.
