Stahlspiel

    0.01 sec.

Stahlspiel

Percussion instrument with tuned steel plates or bars which are played with hammers. It is known in English military bands as a lyra, being made for them in the shape of a lyre. The modern glockenspiel, being also made of steel bars, and no longer of actual bells, is now to all intents and purposes the same instrument.
