Stappen, Crispinus van (c. 1470-1532)

Flemish composer. He wrote sacred and secular works, including a strambotto in praise of the town of Padua.

He became a singer at the Sainte-Chapelle, Paris, in 1492, and shortly afterwards, until 1507, at the Papal Chapel in Rome. In 1524-25 he was maestro di cappella at the Casa Santa, Loreto. He held a canonry at Cambrai from 1504.
