Edberg, Stefan (1966– )

Swedish tennis player, who won eight major titles, six of them in singles. He won the junior Grand Slam in 1983 and his first Grand Slam title, the Australian Open, in 1985, repeated in 1987. Other Grand Slam singles titles include Wimbledon in 1988 and 1990 and the US Open in 1991 and 1992. He also played on four winning Davis Cup teams for Sweden. He retired from tennis in 1995.

Roger Federer has won the ATP World Tour's Stefan Edberg sportsmanship award for a record fifth consecutive year, and he was chosen the favorite player for the sixth year in a row in a poll of fans.
Summary: Tennis fan Mohannad Haddad got more than he bargained for at this weekend's 'Legends Rock Dubai' tournament at the Dubai Aviation Club, when he found himself the lucky winner of the "Cadillac Star Racket" prize, signed by the legendary Stefan Edberg.
For the singles, the players have been divided into two groups with Group A featuring Anders Jarryd, Wayne Ferreira and Stefan Edberg, while Group B has Jim Courier, Paul Haarhuis and Sergi Bruguera.
