Stella, Antonietta (1929– )

Italian soprano. He made his debut at Spoleto in 1950, as the Trovatore Leonora. She sang in Germany from 1951, and between 1953 and 1963 appeared at La Scala, Milan, as Tosca. Violetta, and Elisabeth de Valois. In 1955 she performed at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, and Verona, as Aïda and the La forza del destino Leonora. She sang in New York at the Metropolitan Opera House (1956–60). She was also successful as Amelia Boccanegra, Mimi, and Linda di Chamounix. In 1974 she sang in the premiere of Maria Stuarda by De Bellis at Naples.
