Stephan, Peter (1943– )

English therapeutic immunologist. In 1981, he developed Omnigen, a total cellular extract and serum for treating premature cellular degeneration.

Stephan was born in Middlesbrough, northeast England.

He learned about cell therapy from his father, who died in 1964, leaving his son to run his Harley Street clinic at the age of only 21. He studied homeopathic medicine and graduated in 1970.

The concept of cell therapy is that by injecting healthy cells into the body, the general state of health of the body can be improved. Stephan's treatment involves injecting an organ-specific RNA (nucleic acid copied from the genetic material DNA) to boost the cellular RNA and then injecting tissue-specific antisera. These antisera travel to the defective cells and kill them while at the same time they stimulate the body's immune system, and the healthy cells become active and reproduce.

Stephan's recent work has been concerned with the substance that is formed before the production of the antibody from which he prepares his sera. This substance seems to have beneficial effects which may be used therapeutically.
