Steuermann, Jean Louis (1949– )

Brazilian-born pianist. He made his debut in 1963 at Rio de Janeiro, and has appeared worldwide with major orchestras. He made his UK debut in 1976, returning in 1985 for the London Promenade Concerts. In 1989 he performed Schumann's Concerto, with the Hallé Orchestra. He has given recitals of keyboard music by Bach, at San Francisco and elsewhere, most of which he has recorded.
