Stevens, Wallace (1879–1955)US poet. An insurance company executive, he was not recognized as a major poet until late in life. His volumes of poems include Harmonium (1923), The Man with the Blue Guitar (1937), and Transport to Summer (1947). The Necessary Angel (1951) is a collection of essays.
