Stevens, Harry (Mozley)

    0.07 sec.

Stevens, Harry (Mozley) (1855-1934)

English-born US business executive who emigrated to Ohio in 1882. He became the preeminent food concessionaire at America's sports stadia, racetracks, and convention centres. He changed the snacks normally eaten at baseball matches from lemonade and ice cream to frankfurters, peanuts, and soda.

He was born in London, England. He won his first baseball park concession in 1887. In the early 1900s he introduced frankfurters in rolls at the New York Polo Grounds. His son Frank M Stevens (1880-1965) continued expanding the business.

He became known as the ‘hot dog king’.
