Stiastný, Jan (1764-1826)

Czech composer and cellist. He studied at Prague, together with his brother Bernard Wenzel (1760-1835) who was also a cellist. He later lived by turns at Frankfurt, Nuremberg, and Mannheim, and became known both in London and in Paris.

Works

concertino and Andante for cello with flute and strings; trio for cello with viola and second cello; duets for two cellos; cello pieces and studies.
