Stodart (lived 18th–19th centuries)

Firm of English harpsichord and piano makers. It was founded about 1776 by Robert Stodart, carried on by his son William Stodart, whose employee William Allen invented the metal frame for the piano, and later by his grandson Malcolm Stodart.
