Stoneham

Town in northeastern Massachusetts, in Middlesex County, 19 km/12 mi north of Boston; population (2000 est) 22,200. Stoneham is a residential suburb and was incorporated in 1725.

The town has 67 entries on the National Register of Historic Places including an almshouse and library. The Stone Zoo is an important tourist attraction.
