Stralsund, Peace of

In 1369, the peace between Waldemar IV of Denmark and the Hanseatic League (association of northern German trading towns) that concluded the Hanse war 1362–69.

Denmark had unsuccessfully attempted to reduce the power of the Hanseatic League in Scandinavia, and by this peace, Waldemar had to recognize the league's trading rights in his territories and assent to an enlargement of its privileges.
