Streatham

Area in the borough of Lambeth in London, England. It is the most southern town centre in the borough, and is surrounded by the neighbouring boroughs of Wandsworth, Merton, and Croydon. There are five wards included in the Streatham area, St Leonard's, Streatham South, Streatham Wells, Streatham Hill, and part of Thornton.

Streatham has a wealth of open spaces, including Streatham Vale Park, Streatham Green, Hillside Gardens, and Streatham Common, home to an acclaimed rookery. St Leonard's Church, at the junction of Mitcham Lane and Tooting Bec Gardens, is referred to in an entry in the Domesday Book (1086). Various events are organized on Streatham Common, from variety shows and Shakespearean plays, as well as the popular annual Kite Day.
