Streit, Kurt (1959– )

Japanese-born American tenor. He studied at the University of New Mexico. He appeared in opera at Santa Fe and Dallas, before singing with the Hamburg Opera, in works by Rossini, Donizetti, and Mozart. He performed at the Aix-en-Provence and Salzburg Festivals, in 1989. In 1990 he was Tamino at Glyndebourne, where he returned as Ferrando in 1992. He made his London debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, as Ferrando. He sang in concert with the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, and the London Symphony Orchestra.
