Implementing strategies for reducing stress. Research has shown that a significant number of working days are lost through illness caused by stress. Many companies have been successfully sued by employees for damages arising from stress-related illnesses caused in the workplace, and, for this reason, the reduction of stress at work has become an important issue. Stress management usually involves companies adopting strategies such as enforcing work breaks, providing the means for relaxation in the workplace, and encouraging managers to identify and deal with stress before it becomes a problem.
