Styal

Village in Cheshire, England, 2 km/1 mi northwest of Wilmslow. Quarry Bank Cotton Mill was built in 1784, and the remainder of Styal village shortly after this. The village and 100-ha/247-acre estate in the Bollin valley were given to the National Trust in 1939, to preserve as an example of an early industrial community.
