Suir

River in the Republic of Ireland; length 160 km/99 mi. It rises in County Tipperary and flows south past Cahir and Thurles to the city of Waterford, where it joins with the River Barrow to form Waterford harbour.

HEAVY downpours caused the River Suir to burst its banks yesterday with some areas submerged in up to a metre of water.
Walking along the quays on the banks of the River Suir, they were surprised to see a tug boat named the Ingleby Cross moored alongside the quay.
Our second port of call was Carrick-on-Suir Golf Club, located way up in the hills with the dramatic backdrop of the Commeragh Mountains on one side and breathtaking views of the Suir Valley on the other.
