Sulfites Sulfites are a common food and beverage preservative that may cause asthmatic attacks in sensitive individuals.
Such wine does not contain any added sulfites but can consist of natural sulphites which must be less than 20 parts a million.
To date, Whole Foods prohibited the use of antibiotics, added growth hormones, preservatives such as sulfites, poultry and mammalian by-products in feed, and genetically modified or cloned seafood.
