    0.03 sec.

Susato, Tielman (c. 1500–between 1561 and 1564)

Flemish composer, publisher, and editor. He was the outstanding Dutch music publisher of his time. His 11 Musyck Boexken, ‘little music books’, of 1551 contained Dutch songs, dance music, and the Souter Liedekens of the composers Clemens non Papa and Gerhard Mes.

He worked in Antwerp from 1529, established his business in 1543, and in 1547 built his own premises ‘At the Sign of the Crumhorn’. He also published volumes of Masses, motets, and chansons by the leading composers of his day; many of these include works by himself.
