Swilly, Lough

Inlet in County Donegal, Republic of Ireland. It enters from the Atlantic between Fanad Point and Dunaff Head (6 km/4 mi in width) and extends inland for 40 km/25 mi. Its shores have sandy beaches and curious rock formations. It is surrounded by mountains.

Lough Swilly was a British naval base until 1938.
