siamang

The largest gibbon Symphalangus syndactylus, native to Malaysia and Sumatra. Siamangs have a large throat pouch to amplify the voice, making the territorial ‘song’ extremely loud.

They are black-haired, up to 90 cm/3 ft tall, with very long arms (a span of 150 cm/5 ft).
