Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber

Work for orchestra by Paul Hindemith; composed 1940–43 and first performed in New York, on 20 January 1944 (conducted by Rodziński). The four movements use material from Weber's piano music and the incidental music for a Stuttgart production of Carlo Gozzi's play Turandot (1809).
