Evergreen tree Syzygium jambos, family Myrtaceae, native to Southeast Asia. It grows 6-9 m/20-30 ft high, has oval, leathery leaves, and clusters of small, four-petalled white flowers. The fruits are yellowish-white fragrant drupes, preserved and used in confectionery.
