Szeryng, Henryk (1918–1988)

Polish, later Mexican, violinist. He studied with W Hess, and with Flesch in Berlin. He made his debut at Warsaw in 1933, with the Brahms concerto. From 1948 he taught as a professor in Mexico City. He toured Europe and the USA in 1983, to mark the 50th anniversary of his career. He was an international virtuoso who always maintained strong musical values.
