Szulc, Józef (Zygmunt) (1875–1956)

Polish composer and pianist. He studied with Noskowski at the Warsaw Conservatory, and later with Moszkowski in Paris. On the advice of Paderewski he began a career as concert pianist, but later devoted himself to composition. He settled in Paris.

Works

French operettas Une Nuit d'Ispahan, Flup! (1913), Divin Mensonge, Flossie, Le Garçon de chez Prunier, Le Coffre-fort vivant and others; overture for orchestra; violin and piano sonata; songs.
