Törne, Bengt (Axel) (1891–1967)

Finnish composer. He studied with Furuhjelm at the Helsinki Conservatory and later privately with Sibelius, about whom he wrote a book. Kajanus allowed him to try out his orchestral works with the Finnish State Orchestra.

Works six symphonies (1935–66), three sinfoniettas, six symphonic poems; violin concerto, piano concerto; chamber music; piano pieces.
