Tabah

    0.06 sec.

Tabah

Small area of disputed territory, 1 km/0.6 mi long, situated on the Red Sea between Elat (Israel) to the east and the Sinai Desert (Egypt) to the west. Under an Anglo-Egyptian-Turkish agreement in 1906 the border ran through Tabah; under a British survey of 1915 headed by T E Lawrence (of Arabia), who made ‘adjustments’ allegedly under British government orders, it runs to the east. Taken by Israel in 1967, Tabah was returned to Egypt in 1989.
