Taber

Town in southern Alberta, Canada, 185 km/115 mi southeast of Calgary and 48 km/30 mi northeast of Lethbridge; population (1991) 6,700. A trade and processing centre for an agricultural and ranching region, its industries include sugar beet refining and vegetable canning. There are also oil and gas wells.

The town was settled by Mormons in the early 20th century.
