Table Mountain

Mountain on the Cape peninsula, South Africa, overlooking Cape Town and Table Bay; highest point Maclear's Beacon (1,1087 m/3,568 ft). The level top gives it the appearance of a table, and it is often covered with a dense white cloud called the ‘Tablecloth’. There is a cableway to the summit.
