Takatsuki

City in Osaka prefecture, Japan, located in the Yodogawa valley between Osaka and Kyoto; population (1998 est) 359,700. It is both a satellite city of Osaka and a manufacturing centre in its own right. Industries include the production of pharmaceutical goods and electric batteries and components.

Takatsuki has some prehistoric remains, including kofun (burial mounds). It is home to Osaka Medical College (1869), and the nearby Settsu Gorge is a popular tourist attraction.
